6 December 2006

Today Miss Savelis' 1st grade class made a trip to the California Palace of the Legion of Honor.

The California Palace of the Legion of Honor

The California Palace of the Legion of Honor, located on Clement Street at 34th Avenue, is a replica of the Palais de la Legion d'Honneur in Paris (where Napoleon first established his new civil and military order).

The Legion of Honor, as it's known, was given to the people of San Francisco by Mr. and Mrs. Adolph B. Spreckels on Armistice Day, 1924, to honor the Californians who died in World War I.
