14 April 2007 The PTA-sponsored Skate Day started out with some early-morning rain, which may have scared away a few people. By 1:30 pm the yard was dry, the sky was sunny, and we were ready to skate! There were many first-timers out there; they picked skating up quickly. We had a surprise visitor arrive. Do you recognize him?
![]() Yep, it's San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom, seen here with Principal Willem Vroegh.
![]() Students and parest were able to take lots of pictures with the mayor and share their concerns about our fair city. Thanks to the Freeman family for starting Skate Day; it's become a great (and healthy) tradition. Our next Skate Day will be in the autumn. Remember, eastern Golden Gate Park is a wonderful car-free place to practice on Sundays. |
