The Richmond District After School Collaborative (RDASC) is happy to announce open registration for next school year (2008-2009.) Please take note of a couple changes to our registration procedure for our ExCEL families at Argonne, Lafayette and George Peabody. RDASC will be charging a $10 application fee and a $50 enrollment fee for ExCEL families. Please read (and re-read, if necessary) all the important information regarding registration before contacting us with your questions. We realize that the uncertainty of the registration process can be stressful and we're working hard to be as clear and concise as possible taking into consideration your needs and our capacity to meet your needs. Here's what you need to know for registering your child/ren in RDASC 2008-2009: Every RDASC child who is in their first year in the program is guaranteed a second year pending timely return of the pre-registration form and payment of a deposit equaling one month's tuition. If this is your first year in the program you will receive a letter in the mail asking you to pre-register for 08-09. You will receive this letter the week of April 14th. After receiving this letter, you must come to our office (741- 30th Ave) to pay your deposit the week of May 5th ending Friday, May 9th at 6:00pm. If you fail to pre-register within the dates specified, we will assume that you do not wish to continue with RDASC in 08-09 and your place will be given to another child. If this is your child(ren)'s second or more year in the program, you must submit a new application form every year after your initial two years. You will be considered only after all new applicants have been considered. Application forms will be available in your child's school office and at our administrative office at the Richmond District Neighborhood Center at 741- 30th Ave. beginning April 14th. Application forms and $10 application payment fee are due in our office by Friday, May 9th at 6:00pm. Registration IS NOT on a first-come, first-serve basis. RDASC reviews and accepts applicants on several different factors, such as, a balance grade levels and gender, taking references/referrals from our partners agency, RAMS, consulting with Principals, teachers and staff. Simply submit your application form to our office by May 9th and you will be considered for enrollment. For those who are applying to RDASC for the first time, application forms will be available in your child's school office and at our administrative office at the Richmond District Neighborhood Center at 741- 30th Ave. beginning April 14th and must be returned to our office by Friday, May 9th at 6:00pm. DO NOT LEAVE REGISTRATION FORMS AT THE SCHOOL OR WITH THE RDASC PROGRAM AT YOUR SCHOOL. FORMS MUST BE RETURNED TO OUR OFFICE. Acceptance/Wait list letters will be mailed the week of May 19th. If you have been accepted, Alamo families must come to pay your first month's tuition at our office and all other families must come to pay your $50 enrollment fee (741- 30th Ave) the week of May 26th ending Friday, May 30th at 6:00pm. If you are not accepted, you will be placed on a wait list and notified as soon as a space becomes available. Very often spaces become available during the first week of the new school year and we are able to re-enroll children into the program. We ask that you be patient- every family has special needs and circumstances and we do our best to serve you all. There may be cases where children can remain in the program for more than two years. These cases will be considered under special circumstances on an individual basis. Please note: decisions are at the discretion of the RDASC administration. In some cases, school principals and teachers will be contacted to help in the determination of special circumstances. EXCEL SITES: George Peabody, Argonne, and Lafayette: ExCEL funded sites and families MUST continue to fill out applications and follow RDASC instructions. Application and registration for ExCEL families remain the same. The only difference is that you will pay a $10 application fee and a $50 enrollment fee. The application forms and payment fee must be returned to our office the week of May 5th ending May 9th at 6:00pm. You will receive a letter in the mail the week of April 14th reminding you to register. Please make sure to return applications to our office at the Richmond District Neighborhood Center at 741- 30th Ave by May 9th. You will be notified by mail with an acceptance letter for the 2008-2009 school year week of May 19th.
