2008 Sports4Kids Junior Coaches' Interview
George Peabody | Sports4Kids | 2008 Sports4Kids Junior Coaches' Interview
On Thursday 28 February 2008 the Sports4Kids Junior Coaches sat down for an interview.

We discussed challenges they face on the yard mentoring to their peers while assuming a leadership role. We also talked about the difficulty of dealing with students who may disagree with a referee and how to effectively manage emotionally charged conflicts.

Most of our Junior Coaches said that the most difficult part of their job was explaining to their peers during a fast-paced and energetic game that they had made a mistake and needed to rotate to the end of the line. Many of them experienced disagreements at this stage and found that their problem solving skills were strongly tested. Despite this, most agreed that the yard is much more fun and well organized when they are active.

All in all, they said, there are fewer fights and conflicts as a result of their presence in games. Great work Junior Coaches! -- Coach Drew
